Reviews
I'd never made something like this before but wanted to challenge myself, and this was so fun to make! A bit fiddly at times, but the YouTube tutorial was super easy to follow. I tiled the front in mirrored glass and used rhinestones on the flecks to make a disco eyeball - this changed the weight distribution of the head so I had to make some last minute adjustments, but the headband insert is a brilliant design and allows for loads of movement and in my case, plenty of dancing and bounce! Next time I'd maybe use a plastic headband (e.g from the board game hedbanz) for added support. Had LOADS of compliments and will 100% make another of Sam's designs!
Made two of these. They were fab. My top tip is to use Amazon boxes rather than Ikea boxes. The second was a lot harder and kept popping undone, I think this was because the card was stiffer. The effect was really good and everyone loved them. I added a hat and a headband for my costumes.
I loved this one even more than the pumpkin! I made a glass(es) for it! I would love to put some ridiculous eyelashes on this however, and would love some help or suggestions for making an upper lid to attach them to!
I found this pattern, incredibly easy to follow and intuitive in its construction. I definitely will be investing in more patterns for my own personal use and for use in my technical Theatre classrooms.
